NOTICE OF TIMBER SALE

McNeil Tract – Columbia County, Arkansas

Bid Date: Friday, May 23, 2025 @ 10:00 a. m.

Kingwood Forestry Services has been authorized to solicit bids for the sale of all merchantable timber on 24.9 acres in Columbia County, Arkansas. This timber sale contains excellent quality mature pine (pole quality) on gently rolling terrain. Winning bidder will be required to negotiate pay-as-cut prices to corridor thin 7.0 acres of pine pulpwood (see maps).

Location: Timber to be sold is on land described as Part of E½ of NE¼, Section 12, Township 16 South, Range 21 West, clearcut timber sale area containing a total of 24.9 acres, more or less, plus selectively marked pine trees within 2-acre SMZ, more or less, Columbia County, Arkansas (McNeil Tract – see attached maps).

Timber to be Sold: All merchantable timber within the designated clearcut sale area is to be sold. Timber sale boundaries have been marked with pink Timber Harvest Boundary (THB) flagging and blue paint. Kingwood Forestry conducted an inventory of merchantable timber (27 plots with three cruise lines running north and south) in April 2025. Streamside Management Zone (SMZ) has been delineated with orange SMZ flagging and blue paint; selected pine sawtimber to be sold within SMZ has been marked with two (2) spots of blue paint; once at ground level and once at eye level or above. Based on timber inventory within clearcut area (±24.9 acres) and 100% tally within SMZ (±2.0 acres), estimated tree counts and timber volumes are as follows:

±24.9 Clearcut Acres:

  • Pine Sawtimber: 3,767 Tons
  • Pine Pulpwood: 97 Tons
  • Pine Topwood: 197 Tons
  • Marked Pine Sawtimber in SMZ: 14 Tons

Based on our estimates pine sawtimber to be sold within clearcut sale area averages 18.7” DBH and 2.3 tons/tree. Due to variations in cruising methods, utilization standards, and scaling practices, tree counts and volume estimates cannot be guaranteed. Marked tree count, however, is guaranteed to be accurate. Volume report available HERE

Method of Sale: Timber will be sold on the basis of lump sum sealed bids. A bid form is attached. Bids will be opened at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Kingwood Forestry office at #4 Executive Circle, Arkadelphia. Buyers submitting bids are welcome to attend the bid opening. Mailed bids should be addressed to Kingwood Forestry Services, Inc., P.O. Box 65, Arkadelphia, AR 71923, with “McNeil Tract Timber Sale” clearly marked in the lower left corner of the envelope. Telephone bids from buyers known to Kingwood will be accepted; however, it is preferred that bids be delivered by fax to 870-367-8424 or by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. Anyone submitting a bid for the purchase of the timber will be provided with a summary of the bid results.

Conditions of Sale:

  1. The landowner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid.
  2. A performance deposit of $1,500.00 is to be paid to Kingwood Forestry Services Escrow and will be held until all work is completed satisfactorily.
  3. Conveyance will be by conventional Forest Products Sale Contract providing twenty-four (24) months from date of contract execution to harvest and remove the designated timber.
  4. Buyer must notify Kingwood Forestry Services, Inc. two (2) days prior to start of harvesting operation.
  5. Logging damage must be held to a minimum. Compliance with Best Management Practices for Arkansas will be required.

State Line Tract – Columbia County, Arkansas

Bid Date: Friday, June 6, 2025 @ 10:00 a. m.

Kingwood Forestry Services has been authorized to solicit bids for the sale of all merchantable timber on 47.2 acres, plus selectively marked pine sawtimber within 3.5-acre Streamside Management Zone (SMZ), more or less, in Columbia County, Arkansas.

Location: Timber to be sold is on land described as Part of Section 9, Township 20 South, Range 21 West, clearcut timber sale area containing 47.2 acres, more or less, plus selectively marked pine trees within 3.5-acre SMZ, more or less, Columbia County, Arkansas (State Line Tract – see maps by clicking HERE).

Timber to be Sold: All merchantable timber within the designated clearcut sale area is to be sold. Timber sale boundaries have been marked with pink Timber Harvest Boundary (THB) flagging and blue paint. Kingwood Forestry conducted an inventory of merchantable timber (37 points / plots with three cruise lines running east and west) in May, Streamside Management Zones (SMZ) have been delineated with orange SMZ flagging and blue paint; selected pine sawtimber to be sold within SMZ has been marked with two (2) spots of blue paint; once at ground level and once at eye level or above. Based on cruise within clearcut area (±47.2 acres) and 100% tally within SMZ (±3.5 acres), estimated tree counts and timber volumes are as follows:

±47.2 Clearcut Acres:

  • Pine Sawtimber: 4,369 Tons
  • Pine CNS: 226 Tons
  • Pine Pulpwood: 186 Tons
  • Pine Topwood: 726 Tons
  • Hardwood Pulpwood: 36 Tons
  • Pine Sawtimber - Marked - SMZ: 59 Tons
